After you complete Signal Strength and get back to The Missing Link main quest, it won’t be long before you need to pause it again. To earn Rose’s trust, you need to complete two more errands for her. The first of these is the Fallout 76 Flavors of Mayhem main quest, which is certainly one of the strangest quests you’ll undertake in Appalachia.
How to Complete the Fallout 76 Flavors of Mayhem Main Quest
Once you complete Signal Strength, the Fallout 76 Flavors of Mayhem quest should start automatically. You will receive a new weapon; Rose’s Syringer, but Rose wants you to make a modification to it. She will give you the necessary ingredients and your HUD will indicate a nearby Weapons Workbench where you can add a Karma Syringe Barrel Mod. With the mod attached, you need to test it out. In this case, you need to shoot a Yao Guai with it.
You can find one of these mutated bears north of Top of the World and the Seneca Rocks Visitor Centre which you visited during Signal Strength. To complete the objective, you need to shoot the Yao Guai with Rose’s Syringer. The bear will then fly into a murderous rage which lasts for 1 minute, and you need to survive that, then kill the beast once the effects of the drugs wear off. Killing it before the timer has elapsed will require you to find another Yao Guai and do it over again.
Your next task is to use Explosive Bait. This explosive can be made using a Tinker’s Workbench. The quest should mark a specific Workbench for you to use and a container which has all the parts you need to make the bait. Explosive Bait is a form of mine. Once you’ve made some, simply use it on any creature to complete the objective.
How to “Make Friends” With a Deathclaw
The third task is… not exactly easy. Rose wants you to “make friends” with a Deathclaw. What this actually means is that you need to get close enough to a Deathclaw to press the Activate button. This will complete the objective. At that point you either kill the Deathclaw or run for your life. The latter is advised, as sadly, the Deathclaw will not be as friendly as Rose seems to think. The next objective is only slightly less crazy, unfortunately. Rose wants you to steal from a Super Mutant camp. An objective marker will specify a container holding a Missile Launcher which you need to steal to complete the objective.
The final objective is relatively easy, in comparison. You need to head down to the south part of the Savage Divide, to a specific designated spot. While in this spot, simply kill a Feral Ghoul to complete the objective. Note that there is an optional objective to eat from the ghoul’s body if you have the Cannibalize Perk Card, if you feel so inclined. With all that craziness complete, you can finally head back to Top of the World. Completing the quest will reward you with Raider Headgear, a random aid item, a new photo frame, and Black Diamond, a unique modded Ski Sword.
