Since the release of Battlefield 5 in November, DICE has been very active addressing bugs and making gameplay tweaks. While not every change, such as the recent TTK balancing adjustments, have gone well, the company has certainly been quick to respond to fan concerns on the whole. Most recently, Battlefield 5 producer Jaqub Ajmal has addressed one issue raised by fans; why it sometimes takes a bizarrely long amount of time to quit a Battlefield 5 match.
Whit It Can Take So Long to Quit a Battlefield 5 Match
Ajmal addressed the issue in a recent AMA discussion with fans on Reddit. Note that the issue with Battlefield 5 match quit times isn’t referring to quitting a game midway through. Rather, some players are reportedly finding that it takes an extremely long time to quit a match after it has come to an end. According to Ajmal, the issue is known to DICE and on their list for problems which will get a fix, although he wasn’t able to say when one might come.
“As I understand it,” says the Battlefield 5 Producer; “the reason why it takes so long is because we already start to load in the next level on the end of round screen, and currently we have some technical limitations with aborting the load process. It’s something we of course would like to fix at some point but I do not have an ETA at the moment.”
It’s good to know that this problem is at least on DICE’s radar. While it may be affecting different players to differing degrees, this would seem to be an issue which could be rather widespread. After all, the triggering circumstances are hardly uncommon. Hopefully DICE will be able to fix the problem fully in their next patch. Thus far, the studio has been relatively good at responding quickly with bug fixes in cases like these.
