UFC 4 Virtual Fight Card Results: Winners Include Tyson Fury, Jorge Masvidal

On Friday night, the first-ever UFC virtual fight card event took place. ESPN 2 televised the fights on the UFC 4 video game with celebrities and fighters involved. Among those participating were Idris Elba, Tyson Fury, Action Bronson, Jorge Masvidal, and Kenny Omega. Would the actual fighters be able to translate their skills into video game victories? Here are the UFC 4 virtual fight card results for who all won.

UFC 4 Virtual Fight Card results

Boxer Tyson Fury will be a playable fighter in the new UFC 4 game. However, he chose to use Cain Velazquez in the fight. He took on actor Idris Elba, who was featured in last year’s NBA 2K19 MyCareer story as a coach. Elba opted to use Frances Ngannou as his fighter in their bout.

While Elba put up a good fight, ultimately Fury’s boxing knowledge came into play. He weathered kicks against the wall from Ngannou and caught him with an uppercut to drop him to the mat. From there, he jumped on Ngannou to start punching and the fight was over.

In another bout, rapper Action Bronson was on one side taking on a real-life MMA fighter, UFC 4 cover star Jorge Masvidal. Of course, Masvidal fought as himself in the game. Action Bronson chose the legend Georges St-Pierre for his fighter and surprisingly lasted through the first round, despite being knocked to the mat multiple times.

Bronson joked he won a nice bet for surviving that round. Once things got to the second round, Masvidal continued his aggressive strategy and ultimately landed the knockout punch for a win. If the cover star lost at his own game, it’d be a shocker.

The other real fighter participating in the UFC 4 virtual fight card was Max Holloway. He took on actor and comedian Hanibal Burress. Ahead of their fight, Burress did plenty of trash talking and attempts at mind games on Twitter.

Holloway used himself in the game, while Burress fought as Alex Volkanovski. In the UFC 4 fighter rankings, those fighters are ranked at No. 13 and No. 12, respectively. For the UFC 4 virtual fight card, Burress seemed to get in a good bit of offense in the first round. However, he soon found out that Holloway’s experience gave him the insight to know when to get more aggressive. “This is a friendly!” Burress yelled as Holloway knocked him down, and ultimately put him away with punches on the mat.

Bella Twins, Kenny Omega among other participants

Three different stars from the world of professional wrestling were also involved in the UFC 4 virtual fight card. Former WWE stars The Bella Twins went at it in a fight. Nikki Bella went with someone she fought in WWE before, the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight and WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Ronda Rousey. Brie chose Germaine Martha de Randamie as her fighter.

It appeared neither was too familiar with the game, but they picked up striking moves quickly. They each were able to knock the other down, but it was Nikki landing a knockout blow with Ronda Rousey with 1:06 to go in the first.

Also involved in the UFC event was Kenny Omega from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) taking on popular video game streamer Lirik. This fight lasted longer than the others, giving some good action and strategy.

Kenny chose to go with the legendary GSP, while Lirik created a fighter named Tato. The two faced off in the backyard fighting mode that is new to the UFC 4 game. At one point, Lirik tried some trash talking but incorrectly said he had the same type of audience as his opponent who is in “WWE.” Luckily, Omega corrected him on that.

In one other fight, it was former football player and current TV host/comedian Spice Adams taking on YouTuber Ethan Payne from the Sidemen. Ethan Payne who hails from England took Anthony Joshua as his fighter, while Spice Adams went with Anthony Johnson.

Spice seemed to throw some great punches, except they were into the air and not really landing on his opponent. Payne was able to connect on multiple strikes and eventually got a first-round KO, making this another short fight.

The new UFC 4 video game is now available for Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One consoles.
