AJ Styles Gold Battles Braun Strowman In WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil Finals
On Monday night, men’s college basketball had their championship game to decide who reigned supreme over all the competition. The Virginia Cavaliers defeated the Texas Tech Raiders to claim that title. Meanwhile, the WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil finals also took place featuring the AJ Styles Gold superstar taking on “The Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman.
WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil: AJ Styles Gold vs. Strowman
Tournament Turmoil was a competition that WWE 2K19 unveiled around the same time as NCAA’s March Madness. It featured a bracket of 64 superstars from four different brands: NXT, Raw, SmackDown Live, and Legends. A winner from each brand made it to the Tournament Turmoil Final Four. In those Final Four matchups, Raw’s Braun Strowman defeated NXT’s Montez Ford and SmackDown’s AJ Styles Gold defeated Legends Bret Hart.
That set up a battle between the golden version of AJ Styles and Strowman. As gamers know, AJ Styles Gold is part of the Million Dollar Challenge Tower in the 2K19 game. He showed how difficult an opponent he is in the finals matchup as he took on a beast of a competitor. A full video of the final match is below via YouTube.
The venue was WrestleMania for this huge finals matchup. As the bell rang, it appeared the monstrous Strowman had a clear advantage. However, a takedown and several moves from the solid gold legs and knees of Styles indicated otherwise. Each move came with a clank to let viewers know those had to hurt.
The two competitors would battle for over 10 minutes. At one point, a Gold Styles Clash looked like it might be enough, but Strowman kicked out. Strowman even employed the strategy he used late against Montez Ford by sending Styles to the outside. However, AJ took control and sent Braun back in. Soon after he locked on the Calf Crusher and actually made the big man tap out to it!
So while the real-life AJ Styles couldn’t defeat his Million Dollar Challenge opponent during WrestleMania week, the Gold version got it done. AJ Styles Gold is your 2019 WWE 2K19 Tournament Turmoil champion. This was our prediction when they first revealed the Tournament Turmoil bracket as it made sense that the cover athlete or at least the shiny gold version should win.
