Amazon Driver Loses Job After Allegedly Stealing a PS5 from a Customer

When you place an order on Amazon, you usually can feel pretty safe knowing it will be delivered. And if you were one of the few lucky customers who managed to order a PS5 through the site, you couldn’t wait to get your package. But one customer who ordered a PS5 for her 16-year-old son’s birthday never received it. Why? Because an Amazon driver thought stealing a PS5 from a customer was all right.

An Amazon Driver Was Caught on Camera Stealing a PS5 from a Customer

Jenni Walker, the mother, had CCTV. So, when the Amazon employee scanned the package to mark it “delivered” and then put it back in the van, she caught it. Stealing a PS5 from a kid? It is hard to get more uncool than that. When she saw what the driver did, she reported it to Amazon. The company’s response? A £5 gift voucher (only later did they make it £50). No refund, no replacement.

Not satisfied with this response, Jenni Walker’s daughter went to meet in person with the head of a depot in their area. Soon after, Amazon told Oxford Mail, “We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and how they serve customers. The delivery associate will no longer be delivering on behalf of Amazon.” Amazon has since issued a refund to the Walker family.

But seriously, Amazon, please get with it. When something like this happens, you should issue a refund or replacement immediately. Not only that, but you should automatically throw in a substantial gift voucher on top of that as an apology. You are a huge company that has plenty of money.
