Amazon France Reportedly Won’t Sell Nintendo Switch Consoles and Upcoming Games

It seems that Amazon France won’t be selling any new Nintendo Switch consoles and games in the near future. The French version of the global website reportedly is having some issues with Nintendo that have resulted in the site not having any new stock of the consoles or certain upcoming games from Nintendo in the foreseeable future.

This was revealed by IGN France who reported that anyone looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch or any upcoming Nintendo first-party games should stay clear of Amazon France. This is because, at the time of publishing the article, the site only had third-party Switch consoles in stock for around 345 Euros, which is much higher than the typical price.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Pre-Order

The reason behind why Amazon France isn’t directly selling the consoles is supposedly because Nintendo has decided to no longer send hardware to the company as of right now. IGN France reports that this could be happening because the website typically sells the Switch consoles for 270 Euros, which is a loss compared to other businesses like Micromania and Fnac who sell it for 329 and 299 Euros, respectively.

When IGN France reached out to Amazon France regarding the situation, it responded that it can’t “communicate about it” and it has no information to give. Nintendo, on the other hand, did not respond about the ordeal. Unfortunately, it seems that this is also affecting any upcoming Nintendo first-party titles.

According to IGN France, neither Super Mario Party nor Super Smash Bros. Ultimate can be pre-ordered through Amazon France as of right now. We did our own digging through the site and found that you can purchase the red and blue Joy-Con Nintendo Switch consoles on the site for around 271 Euros but there are only two consoles in stock while the gray one is a little more expensive and only has four in stock. However, we can confirm that you can’t pre-order Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Party, or the Let’s Go games.
