Following up Apex Legends’ Best Multiplayer win at last night’s Game Awards, Respawn has announced an all-new Apex Legends event which is live right now. Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash is a new month-long holiday event featuring a new town takeover, new cosmetics, and even a new limited-time game mode; Winter Express. The event will be live until the 7th of January.
December Apex Legends Event: Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash
Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash is a new Collection Event following the format established by previous events like Voidwalker. The headline feature of this event is an all-new game mode called Winter Express. In this mode, which features only three squads, players will compete to claim the World’s Edge train. Each time a team wins, a new rounds starts, and all players respawn. The first team to capture the train and succeed in three rounds wins. Because of the lower player-count, the train’s route has been made somewhat shorter. Plus, the mode also features preset loadouts, so players won’t need to loot weapons and gear while playing. In fact, the loadouts for Winter Express will be changing every day.
The Holo-Day Bash event does, of course, feature 24 new event cosmetics. Plus, not one but two Legendary Weapon Skins, are available just for completing event challenges. During the event, players will be able to get Event Apex Packs, and Respawn has made the drop rates for these packs public. Every Event Pack contains 1 Event Item (50% chance of an Event Epic or 50% for an Event Legendary), as well as 2 non-event items. (Each has a 70% chance of being Rare, 20% of being Epic, and 10% of being Legendary.) If you unlock all 24 new Event Items, you’ll get the Pathfinder Heirloom set for free. If you don’t manage to unlock it this way, it will become an Apex Pack bonus after the end of the event.
The event also includes a new town takeover; the Mirage Voyage. “Mirage has moved his party boat, The Mirage Voyage, to World’s Edge, and every Legend is invited,” explains Respawn; “So bring your favourite firearm (you’ll need it), and get ready to experience a side of Mirage you never knew. Take a dip in the hot tub, go for a spin around the dance floor, and don’t forget to push the button to get this party started.”
