Earlier this week, Respawn surprised fans with a video in which the new Legend who was initially announced for Apex Legends Season 4 was unexpectedly assassinated. While it’s now clear that Revenant, the assassin in question, will be coming in his place, some fans have a theory that Forge didn’t actually die. Rather, they think that Revenant may have killed a body double instead, and that Forge might still be coming to the Apex Games.
The Apex Legends Forge Body Double Fan Theory
At this point, there are a lot of unanswered questions about Forge, Revenant, and the story leading into Apex Legends Season 4. However, the interview video released by Respawn seems to be fairly clear with regards to Forge’s death. A statement released on Twitter also confirmed his death, stating; “Jimmy ‘Forge’ McCormick was brutally attacked by an unknown assailant during his interview with Ms. Stone. Ms. Stone suffered no physical injuries and is currently recuperating at home. McCormick was pronounced dead at the scene.”
However, some fans think that there might be more to what is going on. It’s hard to say for sure whether this theory has any weight to it, but it’s certainly interesting. The key piece of supposed evidence which fans are pointing to is the colour of Forge’s eyes. In the official Apex Legends Forge artwork, which also appears in the background of the interview video, his eyes are clearly green. However, the eyes of the Forge who appears in the video look closer to brown than green. As such, fans have been theorising that the ‘Forge’ who was killed was actually a body double.
At this point, it’s impossible to know for sure. Forge’s eye colour could just seem darker because of the animation style, or it could be a meaningless mistake. However, given that Hammond Robotics seems to have known about Revenant already, could it be that they used Forge’s public debut to lure the robot out into the open? If not, the company may still have been using a body double as a precaution, given the rogue robot’s activities. For now, fans will have to wait and see. Whatever the case, it looks like they’ll be hearing more about Revenant in the very near future.
