As Respawn have done on a few occasions in the past, the studio today released a new episode of ‘Stories From the Outlands,’ to tease more about the new Legend coming in Apex Legends Season 4. However, the video, which is less than two minutes long, takes a dramatic turn; one that suggests that Forge may not actually be the new Legend. In fact, it seems that Respawn intentionally misled fans in order to stage this surprising twist.
The Real New Legend Coming in Apex Legends Season 4
So, unless Forge somehow survived Revenant’s assassination attempt (which seems unlikely), Forge is probably not actually coming to the game. Instead, the new Legend for Apex Legends Season 4 is probably Revenant himself. This correlates with teasers which Respawn had hidden in their recent announcements, suggesting that Revenant might be coming in Season 4. However, most fans assumed that Revenant might come later in the Season as a second new Legend. (Not that he would literally kill Forge and take his place!)
This twist seems to tie in to the ongoing story of Hammond Robotics; a major corporation from the shared universe of Apex Legends and Titanfall. Forge was to be the first corporate-sponsored Legend, with backing from Hammond Robotics. Recently Respawn posted on social media that; “The opening of the brand-new Hammond Robotics facility in Solace has been put on hold after a break-in caused millions of dollars in damage. When asked for comment, Hammond Robotics declined”. Furthermore, in their latest Devstream, Respawn teased that the corporation would have some influence over the upcoming Season 4 map rework.
All of this certainly suggests that Revenant may be pursuing some sort of vendetta against Hammond Robotics. Indeed, this is likely to be the reason that Revenant is joining the Apex Games; after all, Hammond Robotics do seem to be extending their corporate influence over the tournament. Now that Forge has been eliminated (presumedly), it remains to be seen what Revenant’s next goal is. Whatever the case, Respawn will likely release more details about Revenant in the near future, as we get closer to the start of Apex Legends Season 4.
