Apex Legends Season 8 Will Feature an All-New Kings Canyon

Today, Respawn released “Good as Gold” – a new episode of Stories From the Outlands – which revealed Fuse, the next new Legend coming in Apex Legends Season 8. Following the release of that episode, Respawn has revealed several further details about what players can expect to come in Season 8, including the fact that the game will be returning to Kings Canyon.

Apex Legends Season 8: Obliterated Kings Canyon

Following the introduction of the new Olympus map in Season 7, it was always unlikely that Season 8 would bring a fourth map. Rather, it was more likely that the season would feature a major map redesign, as previous seasons have done. This has indeed proven to be the case. When Season 8 launches, it will launch with an all-new variant of the classic Kings Canyon map, entitled; “Obliterated Kings Canyon.”

Apex Legends Kings Canyon Obliterated Variant Teased

Thus far, Respawn hasn’t released any specific details about what this new map will be like. (Or indeed, any screenshots of how it will look.) However, now the Season 8 has been announced, such details are likely to emerge in the next week or two. For now, all that we know is that Kings Canyon’s “Obliterated” state is somehow linked to the arrival of Fuse. (And no doubt his propensity for being overzealous with explosives…)

Alongside Fuse and the new Kings Canyon map, Season 8 will also be introducing a new weapon; something which Season 7 eschewed. This new addition to the Apex Legends Armoury is the 30-30 Repeater; a powerful new lever-action rifle which fires hard-hitting rounds.

For now, Apex Legends fans will have to wait and see what Respawn teases or reveals in the coming days. If this season follows the release pattern of previous ones, now that a Stories From the Outlands episode has been released, more details and trailers are likely to emerge in a steady schedule for the next couple of weeks, until the launch of Season 8.
