New Legend Fuse Coming in Apex Legends Season 8

Hot on the heels of “Fight Night,” the recent Pathfinder episode of Stories From the Outlands, Respawn today released another new episode; “Good as Gold”. Unlike the last episode, which focused on an existing character, this new episode revealed Fuse, the next new character coming to Apex Legends.

Fuse Coming in Apex Legends Season 8

Just as with previous episodes of Stories From the Outlands, Good as Gold is a teaser for a new season of Apex Legends. In this case, that season is “Mayhem” – the game’s 8th season. Fuse is the new Legend coming with Season 8, and will be playable once the season goes live in the near future. The episode doesn’t reveal much about Fuse’s in-game abilities, but does give players some insight into his backstory. No doubt Respawn will release more concrete details closer to the season launch.

Today’s Stories From the Outlands episode shows how Fuse became the arena champion of Salvo; an achievement which seemingly earned him an invitation to the Apex Games. It also shows how he lost his arm, which has since been replaced with a mechanical prosthetic. As one might well gather from “Good as Gold,” Respawn describes Fuse as someone who “doesn’t lack confidence,” but who; “often lacks a plan”. “He’s a blow-up-first ask-questions-later kinda guy,” they write.

Apex Legends Fuse Stories From the Outlands Revealed 2

Alongside Fuse, Season 8 is bringing a big map change to Apex Legends. There won’t be a new map, but the season will introduce “Obliterated Kings Canyon” which could prove to be a major visual redesign of the original map. The map’s new state is supposedly due to Fuse’s arrival in some fashion, but details have yet to be revealed. Alongside a new Ranked Season and Battle Pass, of course, Season 8 will also introduce a new weapon; the 30-30 Repeater. “Salvo’s most popular weapon,” writes Respawn; “this lever-action rifle picks apart the opposition with hard-hitting rounds.”
