Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Event Postponed at the Last Minute

The Valentine’s Day Rendezvous, a week-long Apex Legends Valentine’s Day event which was announced earlier this week (and which was meant to launch earlier today) has been postponed by Respawn at the last minute. The studio has not confirmed the exact reason for the delay, but it seems to be due to an unanticipated issue. The event is now planned to go live tomorrow, on the 12th of February.

Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Event Delayed

The Apex Legends Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event is the game’s first event since the launch of Season 4. Although it isn’t as large as some of the previous Collection Events, and will only last for one week, it does still feature some compelling content; most notably, the return of the Duos game mode. However, players will have to wait another day for the mode to begin, following this unexpected delay.

Although Respawn have not released an official update regarding the reason for the delay, it seems to have come after an attempt to launch the event earlier today. Just two hours prior to posting the delay announcement, Respawn posted on Twitter; “We’re aware of the event not showing up yet for players. Hang tight we’re on it and will update soon”. As such, it seems that Respawn were on the verge of launching the event, or perhaps had already done so, when they discovered some sort of problem. Whatever the case, it seems that it’s nothing so serious as to cause more than a 24-hour delay. (Although players will have to wait until tomorrow to see whether the delay continues.)

When it does launch, the Valentine’s Day Rendezvous will see the limited-time return of Duos. Players will also be able to acquire four cosmetic items; two which are returning from last year’s event, and two new ones. The event also features a new badge which will be gifted to everybody who logs in during the Rendezvous. Plus, an event-long XP boost will give players extra XP if they’re in a squad with at least one other player.
