The Apex Legends War Games Event is Now Available to Play

The all-new Apex Legends War Games event is now live, following its in-game launch earlier today. The mode brings with it a new rewards track, new daily challenges, new variant cosmetics, and biggest of all, a series of brand-new game modes.

Apex Legends War Games – Second Chance

The headline feature of the Apex Legends War Games event are the so-called “War Games Takeovers“. Throughout the course of the two-week event, the regular Play Apex playlist will be taken over by a series of variant game types, each for a couple of days at a time. The first of these is Second Chance, which will be playable until Thursday the 15th. In Second Chance, every Legend gets one free respawn in each match.

Apex Legends War Games Event is Now Live 2

What this means is that when you die, your Respawn Token is automatically consumed. There’s no need for your squadmates to revive you from one of the beacons. Instead, you will automatically respawn shortly after your death, skydiving back onto the map directly above the location where you were slain. Importantly, you return with all of the gear and weapons you had when you died. Remember, however, that you only get this respawn once. After that, the regular respawn mechanics apply.

With the launch of War Games, players can start earning points towards the event prize track. Each day, challenges can be completed which reward you with points for the prize track, though there is a cap of 1,000 points which can be earned each day. All told, players need 5,000 points to reach the end of the track and unlock the final reward; a new cosmetic skin for the 30-30 Repeater. The event also features new variant cosmetics for six Legends; Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Wraith. All six skins are redesigns of classic skins from the game’s past seasons.
