Battlefield 5 Elites: Norman Kingsley is Now Available

After two months since the release of Hanna Delacroix and Wilhelm Tannstedt, DICE has finally released another pair of new Battlefield 5 Elites; Ilse Schattenwolf and Norman Kingsley. The latter is available for the Allied forces, together with a new signature melee weapon and more. While his Axis counterpart is a brutal psychological killer, Kingsley is almost the polar opposite; an inspirational leader and a symbol of hope.

Battlefield 5 Elites – Norman Kingsley

“Norman is considered a good luck omen among teammates,” says DICE; “Once this Brit arrives, things seem to turn in his team’s favour. A skilful problem solver and expert rifleman, Norman possesses impressive skills in exploring hostile environments – along with endurance beyond the norm.”

Norman Kingsley is the third Elite to be released by DICE for the Allies, following Seamus Byrne and Hanna Delacroix. All three, and the corresponding Axis Elites, are available for players to purchase with Battlefield Currency. Once you buy one, that Elite becomes available to use in multiplayer, including Firestorm. Of course, DICE did pledge that Battlefield Currency would only be spent on cosmetic micro-transactions. As such, the Elites don’t actually provide tangible benefits.

Instead, the Battlefield 5 Elites are more akin to unique cosmetic packs. Each features their own voice lines and Best Squad animation. Plus, if you complete their Special Assignment, you can also unlock their Signature Melee Weapon. In Norman’s case, his weapon is the Naval Dagger. Currently, it’s unknown whether DICE plans to bring more Elites to the game in the future. The first pair were launched in April, while the second set came out in May. The studio did not release any in June. The last Axis Elite to be released drew attention when it emerged that his name, ‘Wilhelm Franke,’ was actually the name of a real anti-fascist resistance fighter who had been arrested by the Nazis. As a result, DICE changed his name to Wilhelm Tannstedt.
