Bethesda is Offering Classic Fallout Titles to Fallout 76 Players

Although it won’t be arriving in time for Christmas, Bethesda is offering their loyal players a gift for playing Fallout 76 in 2018. Specifically, the company will be giving away free copies of the games in the Fallout Classic Collection on PC. These games will be available for players to download in January.

The Fallout Classic Collection Offer for Fallout 76 Players in January

Bethesda recently announced this latest bonus via Twitter; “ANYONE who logged into the full release of Fallout 76 in 2018 will receive an entitlement for Fallout Classic Collection on PC. This applies to Xbox One and PS4 players, too. This entitlement is expected to go live in early January.”

Some people who own Fallout 76 may in fact already have received the Fallout Classic Collection for free. Anybody who pre-ordered the game on PC also received a free copy of the Fallout Classic Collection; this offer was added a few weeks prior to the game’s release, but was retroactively applied to all PC pre-orders by Bethesda.

Fallout Classic Collection Will be Available in Early January

The Fallout Classic Collection contains three games in total. It includes the original Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel. All three of these games were developed by Interplay Entertainment, prior to the acquisition of the franchise by Bethesda. These games are only available on PC, as they were all released prior to the rise of the current console giants. As a result, you won’t be able to play them on your consoles. However, this new offer from Bethesda applies to all Fallout 76 players, including console players, not just those playing on PC. Don’t worry if you don’t have a gaming PC though; the latest of the three games included in the Fallout Classic Collection released seventeen years ago. As such, their system requirements are very low in comparison to modern standards.

It’s currently unknown when exactly these games will become available to Fallout 76 players. With a release window of “early January,” however, fans shouldn’t be waiting long.
