Bethesda Releases Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access Trailer

Earlier today, Bethesda released a new Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access trailer; the first new trailer for the game in 2019. Although the game is already available in Early Access, the game launched with relatively little fanfare and with a staggered release based on email invites. Now, Bethesda seems to be stepping up their marketing for the Elder Scrolls mobile game. The new trailer gives fans a glimpse at what gameplay is like in Blades, as well as highlighting some of its central features.

The New Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access Trailer

Elder Scrolls: Blades actually launched around one month ago, but Early Access wasn’t initially available to everyone. Fans had been able to sign up for Early Access for some time, and Bethesda brought players in through waves of email invites. Shortly after, players began downloading the game for themselves, demonstrating that there was enormous interest in the new title; Elder Scrolls: Blades got over one million downloads in its first week alone! One week after launch, the game opened to all users of Bethesda.net, Bethesda’s PC platform.

Since then, Bethesda has already released several updates to the free-to-play title. While the game doesn’t seem to have had any major technical problems, as Fallout 76 did last year, there has been criticism from players towards the amount of grinding necessary, as well as its micro-transactions. That criticism has prompted Bethesda to make some changes already, such as reducing the time required to open Silver Chests.

Elder Scrolls Blades Trailer Early Access Released 2

Bethesda seemed to avoid aggressively marketing Blades when it launched last month; perhaps to give the developers time to address initial player concerns. This latest trailer is actually the first to release for the game in 2019, and appears to mark a stepping up of Bethesda’s marketing efforts. Given that Bethesda have said that neither Elder Scrolls 6 nor Starfield will feature at E3 this year, the company is likely planning to promote Blades as much as possible at the event, along with the upcoming Fallout 76 DLC.
