Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer & Zombies Will be Free Next Week

Following the launch this week of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2, Activision has announced another Free Access Week for the game. This event will offer free access to a select portion of Multiplayer and Zombies content for a full week, starting with the launch of Season 2.

The Next Black Ops Cold War Free Access Week

Season 2 is due to launch in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at 10:00 AM PT on the 25th of February. Alongside that launch, the next Free Access Week will also be going live, and it will stay live until the 4th of March. Perhaps most notably, the content available in the event includes Outbreak, the new Zombies experience coming in Season 2. This will be the only portion of Zombies available during the event aside from Onslaught, the two-player Zombies horde mode. Note that Onslaught is currently exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

When it comes to multiplayer, free players will get access to a range of modes and playlists. Foremost amongst these are Gun Game, the classic mode which returns in Season 2, and the Apocalypse 24/7 playlist. The latter features a variety of modes on the new 6v6 Apocalypse map. Beyond these two offerings, Free Access players will also get access to Gunfight Blueprints, the 3v3 Face Off playlist, Team Deathmatch, Dominaion, Nuketown 24/7, and the 40-player Multi-Team playlist.

To make things even better, Treyarch will also be offering double XP and double weapon XP over the weekend. This won’t be available for the entire Free Access Week, but will be for the first few days of it. Starting at 10:00 AM PT on the 26th of February, Double XP will be live in-game for all players, including free access ones. This XP event will last until 10:00 AM PT on the 1st of March, a few days ahead of the Free Access Week’s conclusion.
