Next week, Treyarch will be launching Season One in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, along with a simultaneous new season in Warzone. While Activision has already released the season’s opening cinematic, yesterday they released a gameplay trailer for the season during the Game Awards, giving fans a glimpse of the upcoming content.
The Black Ops Cold War Season One Trailer
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One was originally due to launch last week, but following a delay, it will now be launching on the 16th of December. The new gameplay trailer offers fans a brief look at Rebirth Island; the new Warzone expansion. Until now, Treyarch and Activision have kept any information about this expansion secret. The trailer also features a few scenes from the upcoming multiplayer maps.
This is the first official look that fans have gotten of many of the new maps. However, some pictures of the upcoming content was leaked ahead of schedule, along with the title of the Warzone expansion. That expansion is reportedly titled Rebirth Island; a location which was mentioned in the Season One cinematic. Details still have yet to be revealed about the Warzone expansion. However, fans should expect this information to be forthcoming relatively soon.
Ahead of the Season One launch, Treyarch has released two free bundles for all players, by way of thanks for their patience at the delay. Additionally, Treyarch plans to run another 2XP & 2WXP event, which is due to start on the 12th of December. This event will be live until the launch of Season One. This event is the last of several double XP events which Treyarch and Activision promised to run to make up for the low XP gain rate when the game launched. (An issue which was corrected in a patch post-launch.)
