In what seems to be a particularly unfortunate encounter with a Fallout 76 bug, a player has come across no less than FIVE Super Mutant Behemoths all in one spot. What makes it seem especially likely that this is a bug is that the location clearly wasn’t designed to accommodate them; all five spawned indoors, inside the game’s hospital.
A Fallout 76 Bug? Five Super Mutant Behemoths Spawn in the Hospital
Screenshots taken by the player were posted on Imgur earlier today. The pictures clearly show five different level 50 Super Mutant Behemoths. At least one of them is even a Legendary Behemoth. All of the Behemoths are wandering around the inside of a hospital in the game; one which clearly wasn’t designed to fit them inside. Indeed, in several of the pictures you can see the Behemoths glitching through ceilings.
It’s unclear whether any Super Mutant Behemoths at all were meant to be in the hospital, or exactly why these ones have spawned. It could be that the Behemoths appear on a level-dependent spawn table, such as have appeared in previous Bethesda games, and that the bug caused them to spawn in a way that they clearly shouldn’t. It’s also possible that the Behemoths were meant to spawn as part of an in-game event and did so in the wrong place. Whatever the case, it seems as though it’s something Bethesda should look into.
Fighting even one Super Mutant Behemoth can be a challenge. Having other players as backup in Fallout 76 might well help to even the odds; nevertheless, having to fight five at once still seems like insurmountable odds. If there was any doubt that this is a bug; the fact that they are also glitching through terrain does rather seem to reinforce the hypothesis. Hopefully, this is a very rare occurrence, and Bethesda puts out a fix before it affects too many players.
