Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Here’s How Much XP You Need to Reach Rank 55 in Multiplayer

Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s multiplayer leveling track extends all the way to rank 55. As you might imagine, it takes an awful lot of XP to progress through all those ranks. How much XP you ask? Well read on to find out.

Black Ops 4 XP Leveling Requirements

In total, you must accrue 1,457,200 XP to reach rank 55 and unlock the ability to prestige. That’s according to this table that was drawn up by Reddit user wythalnation. The table also reveals other interesting tidbits about Black Ops 4’s multiplayer leveling track, such as the following:

  • A total of 4,000 XP is needed to get from rank 1 to rank 2.
  • The amount of XP needed to rank up increases by exactly 600 XP each time.
  • This 600 XP increase stacks and is combined with the previous rank’s amount, therefore it takes slightly more XP for each level.
  • So, for example, only 4,000 XP is needed for rank 2, but 4,600 XP is required for rank 3, 5,200 for rank 4, and so on.

In their post, wythalnation also provides some additional XP math for the master prestige climb. Much like in previous Call of Duty games, Black Ops 4 players can keep going after they’ve prestiged 10 times. The master prestige climb goes all the way up to rank 1,000, and each rank requires 55,600 XP. This means that you’ll need to accrue a dizzying 52,486,400 XP (enough to prestige 47 times) to reach rank 1,000. Needless to say, even the most dedicated Black Ops 4 players will be at it for a while.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 requires a lot of XP to reach multiplayer rank 55.

Mode-Specific Progression

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 allows players to rank up separately across multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout. Zombies progression functions in a similar manner as multiplayer with players accruing XP, ranking up, and eventually prestiging. Blackout, however, is a bit different. In Blackout, players accrue echelon credits for completing certain actions (scoring kills, completing challenges, etc.). Once enough echelon credits are accrued, the player’s echelon rank increases, up to a maximum rank of 80.
