Treyarch announced the inclusion of the Morocco map via the below tweet which was posted by the studio’s Twitter account. Be sure to click the video file embedded in the tweet to watch a flyby clip of the map’s layout.

The clip also provides a brief synopsis of the map:

“Rebels in a small Moroccan village are using government military support planes as target practices as they fly over the surrounding Sahara Desert.”

Despite being so close to Black Ops 4’s launch, we still don’t know the game’s final multiplayer map count. However, going by previous data, the Morocco reveal brings the current map count up to 12 (eight brand new maps and four remastered maps). Since Black Ops 4 won’t have a proper story campaign, fans are expecting there will be at least 15-20 multiplayer maps at launch, though for now such estimates are little more than pure speculation.

Black Ops 4 will be the first Call of Duty game to ship without a story mode component. Instead, Treyarch is focusing on three multiplayer-centric pillars: small-scale competitive multiplayer, the large-scale Blackout battle royale mode, and co-op Zombies.

Along with a large selection of multiplayer maps, Black Ops 4 will also ship with three separate Zombies maps, one of which will be exclusive to the game’s Black Ops Pass. The Black Ops Pass will also include digital bonuses such as CoD Points, post-launch Zombies maps, exclusive Blackout characters, and more.

Fans likely won’t find out how many multiplayer maps Black Ops 4 has until the game’s Oct. 12 launch date. In the meantime, Activision has begun a video-based marketing campaign called CODNation. Treyarch also recently confirmed that there will be no hardcore variant for the Blackout mode at launch.
