Call of Duty: Mobile Passes 500 Million Downloads Milestone

Just two weeks after the announcement that Call of Duty: Warzone had passed 100 million players, Activision has made a similar announcement for Call of Duty: Mobile. However, in this case, the milestone is five times higher! Call of Duty: Mobile has reportedly passed 500 million downloads worldwide.

Call of Duty: Mobile’s 500 Million Downloads Celebration

“Today, Call of Duty: Mobile has officially surpassed 500 million downloads across iOS and Android devices around the world,” writes Activision, in a celebratory blog post. The combination of being free-to-play and on mobile devices have evidently been enormously successful. Indeed, Call of Duty: Mobile may well become the most-played Call of Duty title of all time. (If it hasn’t already, of course.)

Call of Duty Mobile 500 Million Downloads

Call of Duty: Mobile is now in its second year, following its launch on the 1st of October, 2019. Its third season of 2021, Tokyo Escape, is currently live. “Less than two years since it first hit smartphones,” writes Activision; “the definitive Free-to-Play Call of Duty experience on mobile – which combines fan-favourite maps, characters, modes, and weaponry from over two decades of games into thrilling Battle Royale and competitive Multiplayer experiences – is ready to show its appreciation to millions of players.”

To celebrate this enormous milestone, Activision is offering all players a free bonus. This bonus takes the form of 10 free Radio Current Crates, which should soon be arriving in players’ in-game mailboxes. The crates contain a selection of cosmetic items like the Radio Current uniforms and weapon camos. The Radio Current reward crates were first introduced in late 2020. If players receive any duplicate items which they already own, then they can be converted to Credits. In order to receive these Radio Current Crates, players will need to login to their Call of Duty: Mobile accounts, visit their mailboxes, and claim them via a message from the game’s developers.
