CD Projekt Red Releases Final Trailer Update for Cyberpunk 2077

Ever since the release of their E3 story trailer, CD Projekt Red has been publishing a series analyzing it. The Trailer Frame by Frame blog has had twelve episodes, and the latest thirteenth is to be its last. Each episode has offered fans more detail about some part of Night City, and episode 13 is no different. It turns the spotlight on Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles and characters’ individual styles.

Cyberpunk 2077 Vehicles; Speed and Style

Thus far, CD Projekt Red has not revealed much about the Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles. It’s known that players will be able to drive both cars and motorbikes, although they won’t be able to drive flying cars. Given the open world of Night City, it seems likely that vehicles will play a major role in the game, and Episode 13 echoes that assumption; “Speed is a major theme in Cyberpunk 2077. For many, it’s just a way of life. The city moves fast, so keep up or get blown back. Any edgerunner will tell you; if you stop, you die – Night City waits for no one.”

Episode 13 Brings CD Projekt Red's Frame-by-Frame Series to an End

The second part of the final update focuses on character style. This aspect of Cyberpunk 2077 has been highlighted before; the game’s Cool statistic reportedly plays a major role in social interactions and other parts of the title. However, episode 13 explains how style can also be functional. “Our protagonist’s well-worn bomber jacket oozes style,” it explains; “but that’s not its only purpose. Like most fashion choices in Night City, the jacket is also designed to be functional, offering the ability to connect the character to different forms of tech.”

In The Witcher III, Geralt could don different pieces of armor with different abilities and buffs. In addition, these pieces could be upgrades with runestones which also offered bonuses to his abilities. It’s easy to see how CD Projekt Red could incorporate a similar, tech-based system to Cyberpunk 2077’s garments.
