Earlier today, CD Projekt Red announced the next upcoming expansion for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. Entitled GWENT: Iron Judgement, this expansion focuses on new game mechanics, as opposed to the last update; GWENT: Novigrad. That expansion brought a new faction to the game, while previous expansions have focused on new cards or leaders. Iron Judgement, on the other hand, is bringing back Armour mechanics.

Iron Judgement brings new “elite warriors” cards to all six of the existing factions. Plus, there will be 21 new neutral cards. Examples include the Cave Troll, Greater Brothers, and Stunning Blow cards. The central feature of Iron Judgement seems to be the return of Armour mechanics; a feature which was previously removed from the game. The Armour system has evidently been reworked and is now being brought back. Many of the new cards provide ways for players to use Armour, whether by applying it or removing it from their opponents.
The GWENT: Iron Judgement expansion is due to release on the 2nd of October. As usual for GWENT, a Pre-Order Pack is currently available to pre-order online. This pack contains 25 Premium Iron Judgement Kegs, a Ship game board, an Iron Judgement animated cardback, and an exclusive “Protector of the North” leader skin for Radovid. Note that each Premium key will contain 5 premium cards from the new expansion, including at least 1 guaranteed rare card. This Pre-Order Pack will, of course, no longer be available once the expansion launches.
