CD Projekt Red Offer New Details on Cyberpunk 2077 Mechanics and Languages

Although Cyberpunk 2077 has yet to show any gameplay footage to the public, and presumably, is still many months from release, CD Projekt Red has revealed plenty about the upcoming title in recent weeks. Via interviews, blog posts, and updates, the studio has revealed feature after feature. The latest such revelation comes via Twitter; CD Projekt Red responded to fan questions with new details about Cyberpunk 2077 mechanics and languages.

The Newly Detailed Cyberpunk 2077 Mechanics

Asked whether Skills or perks had been confirmed by a fan, CD Projekt Red provided a surprisingly detailed answer.

CD Projekt Red clarifies some information about player statistics, and also confirm that characters will have attributes. They confirm the presence of Strength and Reflexes as two of the attributes, and state that these rise with the use of cyberware. On the other hand, the game’s skills, which sound as though they cover usages and actions, improve as a result of experience. So the more a player does hacking, the better they will get at hacking. In addition, CD Projekt Red confirmed that players will be able to unlock perks using XP, and “Street Cred”. At present, it’s unclear what Street Cred is, but it could well be a secondary form of XP based on player interactions with NPCs and factions.

Languages in Cyberpunk 2077

In a separate tweet; the studio also addressed questions about the languages which will be supported in subtitles for the game. A fan listed English, Polish, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Portuguese as the languages currently supported on Cyberpunk 2077 Discord channels. In response, CD Projekt Red named three more; Hungarian, Czech, and Arabic. However, they also state that the list of supported languages isn’t final. It seems unlikely that CD Projekt Red will drop any of the current languages; the studio could well add more before release.
