Datamining Reveals Possible Upcoming Battlefield 5 Content

A new leak revealed through Battlefield 5 datamining seems to reveal details on a variety of upcoming content, including new maps and game modes. The Battlefield 5 leak, which was done by Temporyal and posted on Reddit, spans a wide variety of topics. These range from a new “Basic Training” mode to map locations for the upcoming Mercury and Marita maps.

Battlefield 5 Leak Reveals Some Possible Upcoming Map Details and More

The Battlefield 5 leak comes courtesy of Temporyal, and fans can check out the full details of their datamining on Reddit. As they themselves admit, there’s nothing “ground-breaking” in the leak. However, it does include a lot of smaller bits of information. The first of these is Basic Training, which the leak suggests is an upcoming tutorial mission designed to help new players learn how to play Conquest. This mission will apparently be narrated by DICE producer Lars Gustavsson. It will detail the game’s classes, objectives, the ticket system, and how to take out tanks as an infantryman.

The leak also includes a long list of named locations from the upcoming new maps; Marita and Mercury. These two maps are due to come to the game during Trial by Fire; the Tides of War chapter which is currently underway. Temporyal also apparently found several references to a “Sicily” map. However, as they point out, DICE has previously stated that the word appearing in the game is a bug and not indicative of future content.

The first of the new maps, Mercury, is due to come to Battlefield 5 at some point during May. The map is set on the coastline of Crete, and is the first of the Battle of Greece maps. Marita is the second, and will be coming to the game during Chapter 4: Defying the Odds. The two maps are likely to be the setting for a Battle of Greece Grand Operation.
