New ‘Destiny 2’ Bug Hints At The Return Of Trials In The Game

If you’re a Destiny player, you know that there are two parts of the game – PvE and PvP. While most consider Destiny 2 a PvE game, there is a separate community that plays and enjoys the PvP of the game. Since its release in 2014, Bungie has made some really great improvements over the PvP side of things. Back in Destiny 1, we’ve had Trials of Osiris. Trials, was and still is, considered one of the best PvP modes in Destiny.

Destiny 2: Trials of Osiris Returning?

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris

Fast-forwarding to Destiny 2, Bungie removed Trials of Osiris and introduced a new version of the mode called – Trials of the Nine. While there were some issues with this mode, Destiny 2 community still had a lot of fun playing Trials of the Nine. With the release of Forsaken, Bungie decided to remove Trials of the Nine for some rework and tuning on this mode. Earlier this year, Bungie released three parts of Director’s Cut for the past, the present, and the future of the game.

In those blog-posts, Luke Smith (Game Director at Bungie) revealed that Trials of the Nine will be on hiatus indefinitely and didn’t give an exact date of this mode’s return in Destiny 2. Smith used italics to emphasis the theme Nine by which most of the players predicted that Trials of Osiris will return instead of its predecessor, Trials of the Nine.

Recently, there are reports of players getting a weird in-game bug that shows a purple placeholder tag with the usual Trials wins slots. There is a thread on Reddit that shows exactly what this new image is. Another player encountered the same bug, this time on Mercury map when he hovered over Brother Vance (Mercury Vendor). Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
