Destiny 2: Bungie Outlines Major Highlights of Update 2.2.2.

Destiny 2’s 2.2.2 patch (wow, that’s a lot of 2’s) is scheduled to drop later today, May 7. Ahead of the patch’s launch, Bungie has detailed the major highlights and how they affect the game.

Destiny 2 update 2.2.2 highlights

According to this weekly post from Bungie, patch 2.2.2 will correct the following currently known issues:

  • Dreaming City lore was not being awarded when completing an Ascendant Challenge.
  • Chaos Reach would not deal damage to enemies affected by other status effects (such as Thorn’s Soul Devour or Hunter Tethers).
  • Warlocks were unable to Blink after going through a portal.
  • Combination Blow was unintentionally magnifying damage of Arc Staff Super attacks.
  • The Iron Ruby shader was not dropping
    • The shader now has a chance to drop when dismantling Iron Banner gear

Several larger issues are getting fixed in Destiny 2’s 2.2.2 patch as well. Once the patch is live, players will finally be able to complete The Tower Invitation of the Nine bounty. The bounty is currently impossible to complete since it requires killing Vex on the Tangled Shore (and there are none). The specifics of how the issue is being corrected weren’t disclosed, only that it is.

PvP fans can rejoice since patch 2.2.2 will implement the planned Spectral Blades nerfs on schedule. The patch also implements the previously detailed change to the Revelry event’s Competitive Verdant Light Triumph. Players who meet the Triumph’s modified requirements can complete it after downloading the patch.

Lastly, patch 2.2.2. will correct the issues involving Jubilant Engrams and buyable Arc Week emotes. Destiny 2 players were erroneously receiving duplicate Jubilant Engram items despite the presence of dupe-protection. Also, some players who purchased specific Arc Week emotes received an entirely different emote by mistake. Bungie didn’t explain exactly how it’s fixing both problems, only that affected players will be notified of the solutions.

Destiny 2’s 2.2.2 patch will be available to download on all platforms later today, May 7.
