Destiny 2: Forsaken – New Twitter Videos Unveil the Full Roster of Scorn Barons

Last month, new information regarding the identities of the eight Scorn Barons whom Destiny 2 players will have to hunt down as part of the game’s Forsaken expansion was teased, though it wasn’t a whole lot to go on. Now, a new series of short video clips posted by the official Destiny Twitter account have unveiled all eight barons while also offering a few lore tidbits that show just how unique each baron will be.

The barons won't go down without a fight.

The eight different Scorn Barons were unveiled across two separate Twitter post threads. The first thread, which you can find here, contains teasers for the Fanatic, the Machinist, and the Trickster, while the second thread, found here, includes teasers for the Hangman, the Mad Bomber, the Rifleman, the Mindbender, and the Rider.

The video teasers themselves are pretty slick in their own right, but thanks to the bits of lore attached to each teaser, we have also gleaned the following ancillary details:

  • Each Baron apparently has their own name and, in most cases, a list of prior accomplishments that shows why they stand out amongst the Scorn hierarchy.
  • The Machinist, Trickster, and Rider are listed as female, suggesting that both the Scorn and the Fallen from which they evolved have clearly defined genders.
  • The Rider will utilize poison-based attacks, and she’ll be supported by her loyal gang who all ride “toxic Pikes.”
  • The Mindbender is a sort of Scorn/Hive hybrid who gained his powers after falling into the Hive-infested Hellmouth on the Moon (a location that fans of the original Destiny might remember).
  • The Rifleman’s teaser specifically mentions his knack for sniping Guardian Ghosts out of the air, suggesting that he was the one who did in Cayde-6’s Ghost during the Forsaken opening cinematic.

When the Forsaken expansion launches on September 4, players will be able to hunt down and defeat the above barons in a mostly freeform manner, all in their quest to ultimately take down the man who leads the barons: the traitorous Awoken prince Uldren Sov.
