Destiny 2: Here Are the Unlock Requirements for Season 3 Iron Banner Armor Ornaments

Destiny 2’s first season 3 iteration of the PvP-focused Iron Banner event is now live, and along with the return of a fan-favorite map from the original Destiny, it brings a whole bunch of new rewards to earn, namely new Iron Banner-themed weapons and armor ornaments. In order to unlock the new armor ornaments, players must first complete a series of milestones, and we’ve outlined those milestones below.

To unlock each armor ornament, two steps must be fulfilled. First, a players has to reach a specific Iron Banner rank. New ranks are gained by turning in enough Iron Banner tokens to earn an Iron Banner engram (each engram awarded ups a player’s rank by one) up to a maximum rank of 30. However, merely reaching an armor ornament’s required rank isn’t enough, the player also has to complete an associated milestone for each ornament. Some of these milestones are harder to complete than others, and they’ll all require a solid amount of dedication (with just a few dashes of luck) to finish.

The good news is that ornament milestone progress is shared between all of your Destiny 2 characters, and it also carries over from one Iron Banner event to the next. This means that you don’t have to stick with a single character for your entire Iron Banner run, and if you don’t get all the ornaments during this first event, you’ll retain whatever progress you make for future events.

Iron Banner Helmet Ornament

To unlock the Iron Banner helmet ornament, you have to reach Iron Banner rank 25 and win a total of 25 Iron Banner matches. Teaming up with a few friends or clanmates can help stack the odds in your favor when it comes to earning wins.

Iron Banner Arms Ornament

For the Iron Banner arms ornament, you have to reach Iron Banner rank 15 and complete a total of 21 Iron Banner challenges. Having three different characters to play helps since that means you can complete a total of nine challenges per day (three per character).

Iron Banner Chest Ornament

The Iron Banner chest ornament requires reaching Iron Banner rank 20 and scoring a total of 100 kills with power weapons (rocket launchers, sniper rifles, shotguns, etc.). Again, playing with friends can help since random online strangers will often muscle you out of the way to take the limited power ammo drops for themselves.

Iron Banner Legs Ornament

For the Iron Banner legs ornament, you must reach Iron Banner rank 10 and score 100 kills with your super ability. Nightstalker Hunters should note that, currently, enemies killed while they’re tethered by Shadowshot don’t count as super kills, so Hunter players should stick with the Gunslinger or Arcstrider sub-classes for now.

Iron Banner Class Item Ornament

To earn the Iron Banner ornament for your class item (Titan mark, Hunter cloak, Warlock bond), you merely have to reach Iron Banner rank 5, there’s no associated milestone to complete.
