Destiny 2: How to Efficiently Farm the Horror Story Auto Rifle

Earning all of the rewards for Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost event requires some grinding on the player’s part. However, if there’s one reward worth grinding for, it’s the event’s unique Horror Story auto rifle. The weapon, a clever reworking of the beloved Origin Story auto rifle, can grant a massive power boost. In this guide, we’ll explain the most efficient method for farming your own Horror Story.

Why is Destiny 2’s Horror Story worth getting?

Much like the Origin Story off of which it is based, Horror Story’s weapon stats are quite impressive. The weapon has very low recoil and comes equipped with the Rampage and Zen Moment perks. Not only that, but Horror Story is also a guaranteed 600 power weapon that comes fully masterworked. Yes, that’s right, no matter what power level your character is Horror Story always drops at 600 power.

How to farm for Horror Story

Horror Story costs 120 Fragmented Souls, the unique currency earned from Festival of the Lost activities. Acquiring 120 Fragmented Souls can seem like a daunting task given how slowly they are doled out. If, however, you have three endgame characters you can secure the required souls in as little as three days.

The weekly Festival of the Lost bounty awards 40 Fragmented Souls and is character-specific. Complete the weekly bounty as all three characters and that’s 120 Fragmented Souls. There’s also only one objective required for the weekly bounty: complete 15 daily bounties. Amanda Holliday offers five daily bounties each day. Therefore, if you’re patient enough to complete all five bounties each day for all your characters, you’re golden. Five bounties per day for each character means you complete the weekly bounty three times over after three days.

Even better, you’ll have a surplus of Fragmented Souls from the daily bounty and Haunted Forest completions. You might have enough souls leftover to claim another reward from Amanda Holliday once you’ve secured your Horror Story. The Festival of the Lost lasts until November 6. This means that if you don’t want to do the three days consecutively, you don’t have to. Just make sure you don’t let the weekly bounties reset.

If the Horror Story doesn’t appeal to you, there’s another iconic Destiny weapon that’s reportedly coming soon to Destiny 2.
