Destiny 2 Theory: Here’s How Players Will End The Dreaming City Curse

The Dreaming City Curse cycle was first started when the Last Wish raid was first completed by Team Redeem in Destiny 2. It unleashed a never-ending Curse of three weeks, after that, the cycle just starts all over again (for the next three weeks). Now, this has been going on since Forsaken, and we haven’t got any actual news about when this curse will finally end. Bungie still doesn’t have any official announcement on this but players are speculating that with Shadowkeep, we might see the true ending to the Dreaming City Curse cycle.

True Ending of the Dreaming City Curse

Now, if you are not a Lore guy, we get it, but if you’re a keen lore reader of Destiny, you might’ve read this before. With Shadowkeep, Bungie officially announced that there is no Power Cap and players can go infinite with the Power Level in Destiny 2. If we take a look at the Truth to Power Lore released in Forsaken, it says:

“You bring Medusa before Rahool. “Ah,” he sniffs, “another battle trophy? Pre-Collapse, post-Foreboding, a covert intelligence designed to watch over a high-risk colony mission. Allow me to decrypt her for you.” He issues you several tokens, a rare-quality fusion rifle, a shader, and a letter. The letter reads “Achieve Light Level 999 and defeat Dûl Incaru in a one-person fireteam to unlock the true ending of the Dreaming City.”

Now, we do know that this whole lore entry is a lie and trickery by Dûl Incaru herself, but what if we’ll get a true ending to the Dreaming City curse? This could be the reason for no Power Cap in Shadowkeep. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in comments!

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
