Detroit: Become Human and Other Quantic Dream Titles are Coming to PC

It has been announced today that three of French studio Quantic Dream’s most recent titles, including Detroit: Become Human, will finally be coming to PC. The three games have been exclusive to PlayStation until now, as part of a partnership with Sony. However, they will now be available on PC, exclusively via the Epic Games Store. Although there aren’t release dates yet for the PC port, they will be coming in 2019.

Detroit: Become Human and More Coming to PC Exclusive to Epic Games Store

Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls are the three Quantic Dream titles which will be coming to PC through the Epic Games Store this year. The announcement was made earlier today by both Epic Games and Quantic Dream, at the GDC 2019 event. Quantic Dream’s exclusivity deal with Epic Games is timed, however; the three titles will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year only. After that, they will presumably come to other PC platforms, like Steam.

Heavy Rain Coming to Epic Games Store on PC

The decision to port the games to PC isn’t especially surprising. After all, Quantic Dream announced back in January that the studio had accepted an investment from Chinese company NetEase; one of the biggest companies in the gaming industry. That company now owns a minority stake of Quantic Dream. At the time, it was suggested that the partnership would help Quantic Dream to bring their games to new platforms. Indeed, this latest announcement appears to be exactly what they were referring to. It’s currently unknown when the three PC ports will come to the Epic Games Store. However, it will reportedly be sometime later this year.

“We are so grateful for twelve fantastic years of collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment and all they have allowed us to create and produce,” said Guillaume de Fondaumière, CEO of Quantic Dream, in today’s announcement; “With this new partnership with Epic, we can now expand our products to a wider fan base and allow PC players to enjoy our titles.”
