Diablo III Eternal Collection for Nintendo Switch Officially Confirmed, Teases New Joy-Con Colors

The Diablo III Eternal Collection is real and has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch. After several months of rumors and leaks, it seems that the leaks were real and that Nintendo Switch is getting this ultimate collection of everything that has released for Diablo III in recent years. In addition, the reveal trailer has left us wondering if some new Joy-Con colors might be on the way alongside the RPG.

Diablo III Eternal Collection will come with all of the DLC, expansions, and more that have released over the years on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Additionally, Nintendo Switch owners of this version will receive some exclusive goodies that aren’t found anywhere else. The biggest feature is the ability to play as famed Legend of Zelda villain Ganondorf as the Barbarian and Crusader classes.

There are additional items like a chicken pet and more that will be exclusive to Diablo III Eternal Collection. Multiplayer is a key component of the game and it will support both online and local multiplayer when it launches. That’s right, you can do up to four-player coop without having to use an internet connection.

This was all confirmed in the Diablo III Eternal Collection reveal trailer above. The trailer is actually kind of unique since it plays out much like a Nintendo Direct skit with Nintendo of America Reggie Fils Aime and Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime comedically discussing the game. There is one neat tidbit that is easily missed.

The Diablo III Eternal Collection reveal trailer for Nintendo Switch briefly shows off an actual Nintendo Switch with Joy-Con’s that we’ve never seen before. At the 2:14 mark, you can see the screenshot we took above that shows a whiteish gray Joy-Con color. This could just be promotional material but it is possible we could get a follow-up announcement in the future about new Joy-Con’s.
