Dying Light’s Next-Gen Patch Is Here

The hit survival horror game Dying Light just released a new patch. While fans of the franchise have much to look forward to in the coming months, they can also spend their time exploring new aspects of the game that were released just this month.

An excellent thing to note about playing the game on PS5 is that the reduction in data leads to smaller patch sizes, which could mean faster downloads so you can play new patches sooner. Dying Light is available on numerous platforms, and its sequel will be on all current-generation platforms.

Here are some of the new features the Dying Light 1.39 patch added:

  • Three portals that lead to the new challenge areas
  • Additional explorable areas in Raid Mode
  • New potions: Potion of Speed, Potion of Power and Potion of Endurance
  • An armory — which players can access after completing the quest “Imprisonment”
  • New items and blueprints
  • New weapons and blueprints
  • New outfit with a new skill
  • Improved hints and tutorial screens

In addition to new features, the game also implemented some bug fixes you should know about:

  • Support for certain features, like Be a Zombie mode and Live Events
  • Performance and stability improvements
  • Fixed crashing issues
  • Fixed frame drop rate issues
  • Other small bug fixes

Dying Light 2 will be released in February 2022, likely delayed due to issues regarding COVID-19. Still, even with the new addition on the horizon, the series hasn’t given up on adding to its original game. The fact that the series has released new content with a patch is an excellent sign for the future of the franchise.

Dying Light was one of the free games released for PS Plus users back in May of 2020. Initially released in 2015, the game scored excellent marks with critics overall, with many features being praised for their originality. With the release of Dying Light 2 on the horizon, you should expect to refresh your love for the series while exploring the new story and mechanics the game has to offer.
