New Elder Scrolls Legends Studio Requests Patience From Fans During Transition

Elder Scrolls Legends, Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls card game, was originally launched last year. It was published by Bethesda, but developed by Dire Wolf Digital LLC. During Bethesda’s E3 presentation, the company unveiled a major revamp of the game. They also announced that the game would be taken out of the hands of Dire Wolf Digital and handed over to a new developer; Sparkypants Studios.

The Transition to a New Elder Scrolls Legends Studio

Since the announcement at E3, Sparkypants Studios has been working on the new revamp. They released a new update to fans today, offering some insight into where the developers are at and what fans can expect. They urged patience from fans during the game’s transition from one studio to another.

The New Elder Scrolls Legends Studio Urges Patience From Fans

“For the past month and a half,” states the update“we have been blown away by the community’s enthusiasm for Legends. Sparkypants has been hard at work on the game and a complete client and backend refresh… As you can imagine, Sparkypants is in the middle of a huge undertaking. They are rebuilding Legends from the ground up with brand new code – while allowing you to keep your progress and achievements. While the cards and gameplay will remain identical, this effort will improve the look and feel of Legends while building a thinner client that is easier to update and improve with long-requested community features.”

In addition, Sparkypants is continuing to manage the game as it currently exists. The Elder Scrolls Legends’ Masters Series will take place soon at QuakeCon, for example; as a result, they won’t be releasing the new version just yet; “Releasing a brand-new app now could potentially affect the integrity of Legends’ most prestigious tournament. For these reasons and more, we are not ready to release yet, and it will take more time.”

In lieu of any new releases, the studio offered fans some insight into the current state of the game; Lead Producer Andrew Auseon details more about the new Elder Scrolls Legends in full, in the studio’s update. The studio has yet to announce a release date for the revamp. Hopefully the wait won’t be too much longer.
