Fortnite Battle Royale players are going to get some big things next week. Epic Games has announced the patch 5.40, which will be one of the biggest patches this season, but there will also be another treat for every player. The game developer will release another in-game event, and this event will include some cosmetic items players can obtain.
The High Stakes event will be released next week, but the developer hasn’t revealed its exact release date. Considering that the upcoming patch will most likely come out on Tuesday, September 4, we can expect the event to go live at this time too.
The event will bring a special game mode, an exclusive skin, and a unique set of challenges. The Wildcard skin will be exclusive to this event, which means that after the event ends, it will no longer be obtainable. Recently, the game developer revealed a few details about this skin, and we now know that it will be customizable. The outfit also comes with Cuff Case back bling which can be seen below.
The Wildcard outfit has four different customization styles. The skin has four different masks players can change depending on their card suit of choice. In a way, the outfit will be similar to The Visitor as that was the first skin that had a customizable head.
At the moment, is it unknown whether Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to earn this skin or buy it from the store. However, considering that the game developer will release special challenges for the event, we believe that the skin will be obtainable after completing these events.
Additionally, there will be a special glider in this cosmetic item set.
The developer announced that the event would have a special game mode called Getaway. At the moment, there aren’t many details about this mode, but we will get more information about it at 6 PM PT during the PAX stream.
