Bethesda has published a list of Frequently-Asked Questions on their website. Included among the revelations, along with the announcement that Bethesda will be abandoning Steam for the game’s PC release, was news about the size of the Fallout 76 BETA. The studio has revealed that the BETA will actually be much larger than most fans were likely expecting it to be.

Included among Bethesda’s FAQ for Fallout 76 is the question; “Is the B.E.T.A. going to be the full game and will my progress carry over to launch?” Bethesda gives a very clear and concise answer; one that is likely to go down very well with fans. “Our current plan for the B.E.T.A. is it will be the full game,” the studio states; “and all your progress is saved for launch. We hope you join us!”
Most public betas give players only limited access to the game in question. Bethesda’s decision to make the entire game available could well draw more people into participating in the beta, rather than waiting for the full release in November. Anybody can gain access to the Fallout 76 beta merely by pre-ordering a copy of the game. The second part of the announcement is also likely to prove popular. In games like Fallout, players often invest a great deal of time into designing and cultivating their character, and then of course, there are all manner of in-game decisions for quests and the like. If players’ beta progress wasn’t saved for the full launch, it would probably put many off of playing in the beta.
Fallout 76 is currently scheduled to release on the 14th of November. The beta, on the other hand, will begin at some point in October. Bethesda has stated that some randomly-selected players may get earlier access as the studio slowly expands the numbers of players. However, all players will have access to the official B.E.T.A. for the entirety of the allotted time.
