Family Business: How to Complete Sindri’s Second Favor in God of War
Once you have completed the Favor “Fafnir’s Hoard” for the dwarf Sindri in God of War, the vendor will have another task for you. This time, you’ll be heading to a place called Northri Stronghold. Once again, Sindri wants you to recover a whetstone, and he provides you with a Northri Entry Stone so you can get it for him. To get started, you’ll need to cross the Lake of Nine to Northri Gorge, west of the Light Elf Outpost.
Pass through the valley and dock your boat at the end. There, you can use the entry stone to open Northri Stronghold. After making your way through another area, you’ll arrive at one of Sindri’s shops and a Mystic Gateway. Continue on from here until you reach a dock where some Reavers can be seen. If you have the Finder’s Fee treasure map (you can find it during the Anatomy of Hope Favor), you can find a treasure by climbing up between the two gates here.
Once you’ve cleared out the Reavers, you should see a coffin located behind a gate, though you can’t access it yet. Pass over the water-wheel to a bridge on your left, then follow a path down to a Scorn Pole. Hitting it with Kratos’ axe reveals a chest. Back on the bridge, you can spy a breakable chain. Hit it with your axe to release the water-wheel, which opens the gate ahead of you.
Northri Stronghold
The first thing you’ll find inside the stronghold proper is an Ogre, who will quickly be joined by a Viken and Reavers. At the back of the chamber is a platform where you can find a chest. If you climb down from the platform, turn around, and look up, you should spot a breakable chain. Hit it with your axe to create a way forward. As you leave the area, turn right at the Shatter Crystal to find another Scorn Pole. Break it, and explore the area beyond to find Hacksilver and a loot-filled coffin behind a Shatter Crystal wall. Once you return to the main path, you’ll face a Poison Wulver and Nightmares. From there, a ship should soon come into view. As you approach, look to the right towards a large gate to spot one of Odin’s Ravens.
The Raider Ship
When you first reach the ship, there won’t be a way for you to board. Hit an orange plank on the far side to lower a draw bridge. On the ship, you should enter a cutscene and find the whetstone. Once it ends, you’ll face a Traveler and a few other enemies. Defeat the Traveler to gain the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages, which is the first step of God of War’s Infinity Gauntlet Easter egg. Atreus can use Shock Arrows on the gate near the ship to find a Legendary chest. Go back the way that the Traveler came and pass through the ship’s lower deck. Inside, you can find the Njord’s Oarsmen treasure map and a chest containing a Legendary enchantment.
Head away from the ship and use Shock Arrows to clear an exit, prompting Reavers and Nightmares to spawn. Before you leave, you can find a passage nearby that leads back to the coffin you bypassed in Northri Stronghold. As you leave, you should come upon a scroll that begins the “Time Heals All” Favor. The route out is a bit circuitous, but also littered with minor loot. Eventually, you will return to Sindri and complete the Favor. Note than an Odin’s Raven will have spawned nearby once you come back.
