Like the look of the PlayStation 5, but think you might like it better if it included some retro throwbacks? Then you will love a new PS2-style PS5 mockup that one creative fan designed. It combines aspects of the PS2’s styling with the shape of the PS5, suggesting some pretty amazing possibilities.

As you can see, this version of the PS5 would be all-black, as would the controller. Contrasting with all this black are the colourful buttons and logo on both. These hearken back to the PlayStation 2 and DualShock 2 as well.
The user titled the post “PS2-Themed “30th Anniversary of Playstation” Edition PS5
Fan Made.” The reason for this is that in 2014, there was a 20th Anniversary limited edition PS4 that included design features hailing back to the original PlayStation. So, the talented Redditor who created this mockup figured that Sony might choose to do something similar for the 30th anniversary, but with PS2 instead.
Could it happen? Who knows? But it is a beautiful design concept and a great idea. So, be sure and swing by Reddit and show some appreciation to this awesome artist and their work. Let’s hope that Sony notices this post and gets some inspiration from it when the anniversary does roll around.
