FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream Event Begins: EA Reveals 21 Players With ‘Shapeshifting’ Abilities for FUT

The FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream event has officially launched! As of Friday, October 19th, EA Sports revealed there are over 20 players that are “shapeshifters.” These players were “set loose” in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team (FUT) and will be available for a limited time. However, they’ll have special upgrade boosts for certain skill ratings. The shapeshifting comes into play as their stats upgrades can change over time. That makes these collectible Ultimate Screams cards worth picking up in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team packs.

What are the FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream Players?

EA Sports showed off all 21 of the FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream players on their website and on Twitter. Among the stars who are getting an upgrade through this event are Diego Costa and Mario Balotelli. The Ultimate Scream players all received boosts to various Skill ratings on their cards.

These world-class FIFA 19 stars of the field will have a point added to their overall ratings. They’ll have at least two skills ratings upgraded to 90. Mario Balotelli has a 90 Dribbling and 90 Defense rating now. Xherdan Shaqiri went up to 90 on his Dribbling and Physicality skills. In another example, Diego Costa received a boost to a 90 on Shooting and Physicality.

The shapeshifting aspect will come into play at different times. As EA mentions, a “shift” will occur and then a players ratings will change, giving them other improved abilities. That makes them a hot commodity to have available for FIFA 19 Ultimate Team. The full list of players is available here.

How to get FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream Players

These FIFA 19 Ultimate Scream players are available within packs. So gamers are tasked with tracking them down, and there is the option to purchase them on the FIFA Transfer market. EA also mentioned in their Ultimate Scream FAQ that gamers can trade any of the 21 players they find in packs.

The upgraded players are available for a limited time too. They’re available in packs (or on Transfer market) as of 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, October 19th until Thursday, November 1st.

It’s also recommended for gamers to stay updated via the FIFA Twitter to see when a “shift” occurs. That’s when Ultimate Scream players will get different skills ratings boosted.
