FIFA 22 Features Alex Scott as Commentator in Upcoming Game

History will be made, as EA’s FIFA 22 features Alex Scott among the game’s commentators. She will be the first-ever English-speaking female commentator in the EA franchise. Alex revealed the news on Wednesday to friends and followers who shared in the excitement of the announcement. The addition of Alex to the game’s commentary comes not long after she replaced Dan Walker on Football Focus.

FIFA 22 features Alex Scott reporting in the game

In an Instagram post on July 21, former footballer and current commentator Alex Scott shared her big news with regard to her being part of the new FIFA 22 features. Alex will provide in-game commentary during various matchups in EA’s upcoming football sim title. It marks the first time an English-speaking female commentator is part of the FIFA game, something Alex is certainly celebrating.

“This is a big moment for FIFA, for football and women and girls across the world. It’s also a big moment for me personally and professionally. It’s an honour to be part of the FIFA gaming institution, alongside some of my brilliant presenting colleagues,” Alex shared in her Instagram caption.

“Whilst I am the first English-speaking female broadcaster to feature in FIFA, I will certainly not be the last.
I know this is just the start of stronger female footballing representation from @easportsfifa and the football community as a whole…,” she said in the IG post.

Based on a report via the UK’s Metro, Scott will be a pitchside reporter for Career Mode, one of the FIFA 22 features. The commentary team will also feature ex-Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Stewart Robson joining her.

EA changed up its commentary duo in 2019, adding Derek Rae and Lee Dixon in favor of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith. Now Scott and Robson will provide a fresh perspective and new voices for the game.

Alex teased “special” project to fans earlier this month

Back on July 1, Alex Scott shared an Instagram post with her 466,000 followers indicating she was “working on a lil something special.” She mentioned, “I feel like a big kid,” prompting followers to guess what she was up to. The post featured a series of images with Alex wearing a headset and looking at either a script or a screen. Many fans guessed she was working on something for EA’s FIFA 22.

Now it’s official, as she’ll make history as FIFA 22 features Alex Scott’s brilliant commentary. Based on fan feedback, she should be a welcomed addition to the EA international football sim title.

Scott, who was born in London, played soccer with Arenal, Birmingham City, and the Boston Breakers for her senior career. In addition, she played for England and Great Britain’s national teams for over a decade. Since her playing days, Scott has been part of BBC Sport, Sky Sports, and CBS Sports in various spots covering the game she loves.

Fans will be able to hear Alex Scott’s commentary in FIFA 22, which officially arrives on October 1, 2021. The game will be available on Microsoft Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
