Final Fantasy XIV Companion App Now Available for iOS and Android

After years and years of waiting, the Final Fantasy XIV Companion App has now arrived for iOS and Android. FFXIV players now have the opportunity to utilize this mobile app when they are away from their computers or PS4 console and the MMORPG. The app has been a long-awaited feature for fans of the game, allowing you to accomplish many of the in-game tasks easily from the app.

The Final Fantasy XIV Companion App allows you to do a number of features that were previously exclusive to logging into the MMO itself. This includes accessing your friends list, chatting with your fellow adventurers online, using the event list, managing your items through your inventory, and even accessing the market board.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.35 Heaven-on-High

Dedicated players will want to check out the Final Fantasy XIV Companion App, as the usefulness of it knows no bounds. Unfortunately, you do need an active service account and subscription available in order to really use the app’s functions. This can be a somewhat annoying requirement as some players may want to chat with friends or sell stuff without paying for a subscription right now, but it is certainly understandable.

Thankfully, Square Enix does give a bit of leeway for the Final Fantasy XIV Companion App. If your subscription has recently run out, you can still access some of the features of the app for up to 30 days past the end of your last subscription period. We tested this out ourselves and you are able to chat with any of your contacts who are online, check out the events happening or create one, and view your current contacts.

You aren’t able to do anything in the Final Fantasy XIV Companion App regarding your items including sorting them, selling stuff on the market board, and buying items on the market board.
