Fortnite Battle Royale Patch 5.40 Has Been Postponed

Fortnite Battle Royale players have been eagerly waiting for the patch 5.40 to come out. The patch will bring some big gameplay changes, a new item, as well as a unique in-game event which will reward players with exclusive cosmetic items. However, Epic Games had to postpone the update, which means that players will have to wait a bit more time.

The Fortnite developer had first announced that the patch would be released on Wednesday, September 5. However, a few hours later, the developer posted another update, saying that the patch would be postponed until Thursday.

According to the Fortnite creator, the patch was postponed due to a critical controller issue. It was also confirmed that both the patch and the new event would come out at the same time.

The High Stakes event has Fortnite Battle Royale players very excited. The event will bring the Getaway limited-time game mode, which will allow players to experience Fortnite in a different style. Beside this, players will get exclusive cosmetic items, including the Wildcard outfit, its back bling, and a glider.

Furthermore, Epic Games will release a special set of challenges which will reward players with free cosmetic items. While the outfit won’t be one of these items, players will still get a crowbar pickaxe which will be exclusive to the event.

Week 9 challenges were supposed to come out on Thursday, September 4, but they be postponed as well. The last time Epic Games postponed a patch for Thursday, weekly challenges were also postponed, and that is what is going to happen again. The developer announced these challenges would come out on Friday, September 7.

The initial release date of season 6 was September 25, but Epic Games will most likely have to push it for October. Fortnite Battle Royale players still have three more weeks of challenges left, and these delayed updates are pushing the next season even further away.
