Epic Games has been slowly preparing Fortnite Battle Royale players for season 6. The mysterious cube, which appeared in late August, has been moving all over the island. Some players have figured out its movement pattern and realized that its final destination will be Loot Lake.
It appears that this area will get some major changes next season. Loot Lake is one of the original Fortnite Battle Royale areas, and many players would like to see something else there. It’s been in the game since September 2017, but it seems that Epic Games will change it soon.
Loot Lake’s dark portal
According to what Fortnite players have found out, the mysterious cube will reach Loot Lake before season 5 ends. Week 10 loading screen showed us that the cube is rather evil, and it seems that it will be used to form a dark portal.
Recently, an anonymous poster on 4chan revealed some upcoming changes for the sixth season. The poster claims that the cube will explode and create crystals around itself. Fortnite players will use these crystals to enter the dark world. Additionally, it will be possible to enter this world through the portal which will be found in the center of the lake.
Apparently, players won’t be able to see their enemies in the dark world. They also won’t be able to use weapons. While in the dark world, some skins will turn into their dark counterparts. Fortnite players have already seen Brite Bomber’s dark skin in the reflection of the cube. Supposedly, players will have special challenges which will allow them to unlock dark variants of their skins.
Keep in mind that this leak may not turn out to be true. After all, it was posted by an anonymous user. However, there is no doubt that Loot Lake will receive a major change for the next season, so this may be true.
