Fortnite’s Newest Patch Upgrades Shotguns and Brings Changes to Mounted Turrets

As you likely are aware, the v6.31 patch for Fortnite is here. This update has brought quite a few changes to the game. Some of these changes involve weapons, namely Shotguns and Mounted Turrets.

Here Are the Changes to Shotguns and Mounted Turrets

First of all, we now have Epic and Legendary Pump Shotguns. These guns inflict 105 and 110 maximum damage respectively. You can locate them in floor loot and chests as well as Vending Machines and Supply Drops.

Additionally, here the other changes to Shotguns from the official patch notes:

  • Shotguns will now always apply at least 3 pellets worth of damage if only 1-2 pellets hit the target.
    • NOTE: Bonus pellets can never be critical hits.
  • Pump Shotgun maximum damage and fall-off changes.
    • Pump Shotgun maximum damage increased from 80 / 85  to 95 / 100
      • Pump shotguns will do higher damage in shorter range buckets but damage falls off quicker. This means you’ll do more damage to closer targets but less damage to farther targets.
  • Added Stink Bombs to Supply Drops
  • Removed Double Barrel Shotguns from floor loot

Shotguns in Fortnite now do more damage.

Secondly, here are the changes which Epic has made to Mounted Turrets:

Mounted Turret

  • Adjusted Mounted Turret collision to make it easier to land shots against anyone occupying it.
  • Removed the ability to repair the Mounted Turret
  • Fixed players being able to clip into turret barrels and get stuck.
  • Supply drops will automatically open if landing on a Mounted Turret
  • Drop rate reduced from 1.719% to 0.915%

Along with these changes to Shotguns and Mounted Turrets, the patch has also introduced a new Tournament and LTM. There have been a number of other improvements and fixes as well.
