Forza Motorsport 6 is Being De-Listed on September 15th

If you worry about a future in which we no longer can purchase games the old-fashioned way on physical discs, you might also be aware that more and more games are getting de-listed from the digital stores where they were previously available. The latest game to be slated for de-listing is Xbox One exclusive Forza Motorsport 6.

Why is Forza Motorsport 6 Being De-Listed?

The exact reasons why Forza Motorsport 6 is being removed from all digital stores is not clear, but the developer says the following:

Forza Motorsport 6 will enter “End of Life” status on September 15. This means that the game and its associated add-on content (including car packs and expansions) will no longer be available for purchase. Players who own Forza 6 before that date will still be able to download and play the game and its associated add-on content as normal but the game and add-on content will no longer be available for purchase on the Xbox Live Marketplace.”

One possibility for why the game is being de-listed is that licensing rights to music tracks used in the game may have expired. This seems to be a common reason why games are taken down from digital stores. And being as this is referred to as “End of Life” status, we know that the Forza 6 will not be made digitally available again in the future.

So if you are a Forza fan and have yet to pick up a digital copy of this game and its DLCs, you might want to think about getting on that as soon as possible. If you wait a couple weeks, it would be easy to forget that the game will be removed for sale digitally on September 15th.
