According to this PlayStation Blog post, the latest batch of free games will rotate in on January 1, 2019. The main draw of January’s lineup is undoubtedly Steep, the open-world winter sports game from Ubisoft. Since its original 2016 launch, Steep has slowly grown in scale with new content releases. In fact, one of Steep’s most recent content updates even added in Winter Olympics-themed content.

Steep will be one of January’s two free PS4 games, the other one being the 2017 co-op adventure game Portal Knights. Here’s the PlayStation Blog’s official description of Portal Knights in case you’re curious:

“Step into the fantastic and unknown in the delightful action-RPG. You can explore alone or team up with up to three other friends in cooperative multiplayer. This is a delightful romp of a game that is sure to please many of you.”

Those who still have a working PS3 console can also download free copies of Amplitude and Zone of the Enders. It should be noted that the version of Zone of the Enders being offered is the HD Collection that came out in 2013. Lastly, PS Vita owners can grab Super Mutant Alien Assault and Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion for free. Fallen Legion is also cross-play compatible on PS4.

If you play Warframe on PS4, you can also grab the PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III. The new PS Plus-exclusive booster pack contains a number of special items and perks including weapons and in-game currency. However, make sure you claim the booster pack quickly since it’s only available until January 15.

January, 2019 is already shaping up to be a busy time for gamers. Along with new PS Plus games, Battlefield 5 might be getting premium currency. Fortnite’s ‘Take the Elf’ emote has also been delayed into “early 2019.”
