A Free Trial of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is Coming Next Week

Following tomorrow’s launch of the Season 4 Reloaded update, Treyarch and Activision are planning to once again open up Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to everybody. For one whole week, a selection of modes and content from the game will be available to play through Free Access.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Free Trial Week

It has been some time since a Free Access event was held for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and even when such events did take place, they would typically span a weekend or a few days. A full week of Free Access is almost unheard of. However, from the 22nd of July to the 29th, significant portions of Black Ops Cold War will be available for free on all platforms.

When the free trial event launches, players will be able to access the game’s Multiplayer, where a range of playlists and maps will be freely available. Notably, one of the playable maps will be Rush, the new 6v6 map coming in tomorrow’s update. More significantly, however, the Free Access content will also include the game’s Zombies mode, featuring the entirety of Mauer der Toten; the all-new Zombies map launching as part of Season 4 Reloaded! As such, players interested to try out the first major Zombies map since Season 1 have a prime opportunity to do so!

Warzone players looking to try out Black Ops Cold War will find that their progress and weapons (Black Ops Cold War weapons only, of course!) will carry over during the Free Access event. Moreover, any progress earned in Black Ops Cold War will carry back over to Warzone once it ends. Treyarch is planning to release more details about how players can participate in the free trial at some stage next week. These will include instructions for how to download the Free Access version of the game on different platforms.
