Back in the day, there was a popular video game NBA Street featuring outrageously styled characters and over-the-top playmaking. It was fast, furious, and fun. The game brought to life several “imaginary” bosses including Stretch Monroe, the NBA Street Vol. 2 cover star. Stretch is now in the NBA Live 19 game as part of their special NBA Street event and you can earn him for your collection. Here are the details on how to get Stretch.
NBA Live 19’s online co-op: “Welcome to the Street”
The NBA Street Vol. 2 game launched Apr. 29, 2003. Fast forward to the same date in 2019 and it’s “in the game” thanks to EA. So how do you earn Stretch in NBA Live 19? It’s gonna take some major work as you’ll be up against some fierce competition.
As shown in the video clip below, Stretch is rolling with NBA legends. They include Allen Iverson, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Larry Bird, and the original Julius Erving. Stretch is actually created in Dr. J’s likeness, so that makes it extra tough.
You’ll play this game at the legendary Rucker Park in NYC, famous for making street dreams come true. It’s also famous for broken ankles, hopes, and dreams courtesy of more skilled opponents.
How to earn Stretch in NBA Live Street game
The new feature “Welcome to the Street” is available in the NBA Live 19 “Live Events.” Scroll over using your controller to select “Welcome to the Street.” It’s available for a limited time, a bit under four days as of this report. This is separate from the NBA Live Creator Challenge events.
This is a one-game co-op event. The objective is for your team of five online players to win by at least two points. It’s the first team to get to 21 points in a street game against the aforementioned legends like Bird, AI, and Magic. So make sure you’re rolling with friends who know how to ball or hope you get into the right lobby. It’s also “Bighead” mode in honor of NBA Street.
For your troubles, you’ll earn a number of rewards including Stretch Monroe. Check out his attributes below to see what sort of player you’ll get. As one might guess, he’s a “Stretch” big.
In addition to winning Stretch, you can earn a Julius Erving 197 New York Nets Throwback jersey and some sweet Nike KD 9 Premiere: “USA” kicks. So get into the game, find the right teammates and take down Stretch’s bighead legends crew!
